Then via Collin’s End to the Alnutt Almshouses, Path Hill, Coombe End farm, and the Hartslock Overlook. Return via the Thames Path to Pangbourne. BRING A PACKED LUNCH. Park in the Car Park opposite The Horse and Groom PH Mortimer RG7 3RD This gently undulating circular walk goes down to and then along Foudry Brook towards Butlers Land. From here on to the Roman Town of Calleva, passing the site of the Amphitheatre when returning to Mortimer.

Start from the ‘Bull and Butcher’ at Turville. Nearest postcode RG9 6QU. Those fancying a 70m climb to the windmill should meet at 10:30 and we will do a straight up and down. Those who want a lazier life meet at the pub at 11:00, whence we walk down to Skirmett, up through Adams Wood to Fingest and along to Turville. The shorter walk is about 4.3 miles, the longer one 4.8 and athletic. Pub has midweek lunch deals and local real ale.

Parking at Rushall Manor Farm, nearest Post Code RG7 6DN; up gravel track on Scratchface Lane just off Back Lane between Bradfield & Stanford Dingley. Walk along the River Pang to Bradfield, then climb steadily to Greathouse Wood and return downhill through several attractive copses. Gentle slopes only, but may be muddy.

Park in Village Green car park off Bramley Road (nearest Postcode RG27 0DD). The walk is in 2 parts. Part 1 is 6 miles and makes its way near Sherfield Court and Sherfield Hall and then East to Summerstead Farm before returning to start. Part 2 goes to Lance Levy Farm before joining the Brenda Parker Way path by the River Loddon looping round to the north of the village and returning to the start. BRING A PACKED LUNCH IF DOING BOTH PARTS. A joint walk shared with Mid-Berks Ramblers.

Please park considerately near the junction of Woodlands Road and Beech Rise Sonning Common, Post Code RG4 9TE, for this walk through Chiltern countryside. We pass Rotherfield Peppard, then through Crowsley Park and Kidmore End before returning via Gallowstree Common and New Copse. This walk has 3 moderate climbs, manageable at an easy pace. Park on verge in Ball Pit Road in East Ilsley (signed Stanmore and Peasemoor) near A34 bridge (nearest Postcode RG20 7DJ). The walk is in 2 parts. Part 1 is 6 miles which is on mainly footpaths and bridleways along to West Ilsley before an ascent to Ridgeway at Gore Hill, along the Ridgeway and then a descent back to East Ilsley. Part 2 is 3.5 miles ascending over Shrill Down, underneath the A34 and then returning to start via Nutfield Down. BRING A PACKED LUNCH IF DOING BOTH PARTS.

Meet outside Reading Town Hall, Blagrave St, nearest Postcode: RG1 1QH, for a riverside walk starting from the heart of Reading. On paved paths, so guaranteed mud-free (!) we go through Forbury Gardens and the re-opened Abbey ruins to join towpaths along the River Kennet to the confluence at Horseshoe Bridge and back beside the Thames. This walk passes by two museums and there are examples of Victorian engineering to spot on the way.
