Please note we have had to cancel this walk because of the poor ground conditions.  Start from Jubilee Gems Car Park, School Road, Padworth, nearest Post Code: RG7 4JA. (Permission has been granted). A shortish walk along Silver Lane, through the Englefield Estate and back via Ufton Court and Old Farm. The ups and downs of Silver Lane will be taken slowly.

Park at MILL END car park (NOT Mill Lane) just off A4155 on road signposted to Hambleden (nearest Post Code: RG9 3AY). Follows the west bank of the Thames into Henley  to Remenham then back through Remenham Wood and Aston to Hambleden lock. Be prepared for mud after heavy rain.

We regret we have had to cancel this walk because the path is very muddy in places and flooded in others. 
Meet at Goring and Streatley Station car park. Nearest Post code: RG8 0EP. We shall take the Thames Path National Trail which follows a very attractive stretch of the river before climbing over Coombe Park and joining Whitchurch Hill to descend into Whitchurch and Pangbourne where there are plenty of refreshments available. Half-hourly trains back to Goring.

We will go as far as Calcot Mill, & return on the other side of the Holybrook. The walk will take about 1.5 hours. Wear sturdy shoes. Park in Bramshill Common Wood CP (Nearest Post Code: RG27 0PR). A varied walk along mainly paths and tracks through woodland and farmland. The walk starts by walking through the Bramshill Plantation exiting to the north. It joins the Blackwater Valley Path towards Finchampstead and then to Eversley Cross. The return is via St Mary’s church following part of the Three Castles Path and then through Heath Warren Wood back to the start. The walk will now be a figure of eight walk with the first loop around the Bramshill Plantation and the second loop to St Mary’s Church returning following part of the Three Castles Path and then through Heath Warren Wood back to the start. Cowleaze Wood car park clearly signed on the right of the road from Christmas Common to Stokenchurch. Cowleaze Wood car park is approximately 3 miles west of Stokenchurch. We will pass through the Aston Rowant nature reserve then follow the Ridgeway National Trail. There is one descent and a corresponding ascent towards the end. Otherwise generally flat and very few stiles. Heathland and mixed woodland. Lunch will be arranged at the Fox and Hounds at Christmas Common about 2 miles from the end of the walk.

Down House was the home of the famous naturalist Charles Darwin for most of his life. Peter Worsley, our walk leader, has a special interest in Darwin. Assemble in the booking hall on the arrivals (east) side at ORPINGTON railway station by 10.30. Post Code BR6 8AB.The full walk is in three parts:-

First,  4 miles to Downe village via Farnborough, we will visit Darwinian sites in the village and then have a lunch break – either bring a picnic, or there is a CAMRA pub or a teashop.

Second, a 15 minute walk to Down House. This is an English Heritage property and admission to the house is about £11. About two hours will be allocated to visiting the house and grounds.

Third, a walk from Down House to HAYES (Kent) railway station via Keston Heath of about 4 miles with an arrival c. 17.00 hrs. This walk is an exact repeat of one undertaken in1894 with arrival and departure from the same stations. Contact Peter at peter.worsley01@gmail.com

Heading north west out of Cholsey on Church Road, park in the CP off Church Road, in the apron before St Mary’s Church (nearest postcode OX10 9PS). Do not park in the field on the left. Alternatively, the start is around a 20 minute walk from Cholsey Station. This relatively flat walk takes us to Aston Tirrold, Blewburton Hill (with an optional short steep climb to the top, for hopefully glorious views), South Moreton and returning to Cholsey. BRING A PACKED LUNCH. In places a bit overgrown, so be warned if wearing shorts!

Meet in the visitors CP of the Greenham Common Nature Reserve which is off Burys Bank Road and next to the Control tower of the old US Airforce Base,(Nearest Post Code: RG19 8DB). A Saturday afternoon ramble round some of the taxiways of the base with open views of the developing lakes and flora of the Nature Reserve. By the time we are there the old Control Tower should be open (scheduled for May) as a Visitor Centre with a promised cafe area. It is an open area so wear protection against the sun. Meet at the very far end of Manor Road (entrance opposite John Barleycorn Pub) nearest Post Code: RG8 9EP.  Good parking. The figure of eight walk includes Great Chalk Wood and Hartslock Nature Reserve.  There is one sustained incline (500 yards) which we can pace.  NOTE START TIME.

Park in Car Park behind Catherine Wheel pub in Station Road, nearest Post Code: RG8 9AT. A beautiful walk which includes some steepish inclines. Passes inclines of Elvendon Priory, runs parallel to Whitchurch Hill, returns along the Thames Path. NOTE START TIME.
