The second of our Fish and Chip Supper and Quiz Nights was held in Pangbourne Village Hall on Friday 6th February. The evening was, as last year, a sell-out. Sixty of us, both members and guests, had an immensely enjoyable evening. Our chairman Chris welcomed us all and at 7:30pm battle commenced. There were six people in each team and ten teams, and again the quiz was organised for us by Roger, Lin and Roo. We had many rounds of quiz questions which covered everything from who wrote the ‘William Tell’ overture to which two countries have a square national flag; they tested our general knowledge beyond University Challenge standard in their difficulty (at least my team thought so!) The fish and chips were collected from our local fish and chip shop and rushed to us in the hall at half-time in the quiz. Battle commenced again after we had all eaten. At the end of each round the team scores were totalled and announced to keep us all on out toes. At the end of the quiz we had the final tally which included the pictures and prime ministers quiz sheets results. The prizes were presented to the winning team. This was followed by the raffle and Susan thanked the quizmasters and all those who had contributed to another very successful Pang Valley Ramblers social event.
Our thanks to Susan & Peter for organising the evening and to all others who assisted in any way. We must do it again in 2016!
